Hosting an international conference may be easier than you think. The ICRCC is an intimate, highly engaged conference of less than 200 participants, requiring just three presentation rooms plus shared gathering space. ICRCA manages most conference organization—from submissions and scheduling to registration, awards, and proceedings—while supporting and involving the host throughout the planning process.

Hosting the International Crisis and Risk Communication Conference (ICRCC) is designed to be both high-impact and manageable. The conference typically welcomes approximately 125–150 participants, but year and location dependent we plan for up to 200. It requires three presentation rooms accommodating roughly 50 people each, along with space for plenary sessions, meals, networking, and receptions.
Importantly, you will not be organizing the conference alone. ICRCA manages the core conference processes, including submissions and peer review, program scheduling, registration, special sessions and keynotes, awards, conference materials, and proceedings. The host works in partnership with ICRCA on the local venue and conference experience and is invited into conference planning meetings in the months leading up to the event.
What will you need for your bid?
We aren’t looking for a fully developed conference plan. We need enough information to understand how ICRCC could work at your organization. The submission form will ask you to provide:
- Your proposed year, dates, venue, and institutional point of contact. ICRCC is normally held Monday–Wednesday between 1–21 March.
- A brief description of your conference spaces, technology, accessibility, and potential reception locations.
- An indicative hospitality and venue budget, including an example menu. ICRCC is designed to fund its hospitality and site costs primarily through conference registration fees.
- Information about travel and accommodation, including recommended hotels and access from major transportation hubs.
- Your proposed local conference support, such as assistance with setup, room technology, and session rooms, plus a brief letter confirming institutional support.
